Here’s the full(er) scoop – condensed & paraphrased – from Wake Up Yoga West’s General Manager, Alane Benson:

…This decision was not made lightly… attendance has been in decline, despite Wake Up Yoga’s concerted efforts to counteract that pattern… plus, 3 “anchor teachers” are giving up their classes, and there are no teachers readily available to fill those sizable voids.

Alane is open to additional thoughts or questions; she can be contacted directly through Wake Up Yoga’s website, as listed above.

Sorry to hear this news. I took the beginner series in Nov/Dec and was ready to take the full plunge now that I have the time. Studios in W. Philly or anywhere near inner ring suburbs are practically nonexistent. Quite frankly, the longer/farther I have to travel, the less likely I am able to start a consistent practice. It will be missed.
