A neighbor found a very friendly grey and white cat a few days ago on her porch at 49th and Chester. The cat is declawed on his front paws and looks to be neutered.
He is pretty big and has two different colored eyes – one green and one mottled brown, which may be due to an injury. He’s very thin but was clearly once someone’s pet. He is mostly grey with dark grey stripes, a spotted white belly and white muzzle.
The neighbor is concerned that the cat may not survive outdoors without claws.
If you have any information about this cat, please contact Katie at kdericks at gmail dot com

This grey guy is in my backyard pretty much all the time now. Any leads on an owner? He is so sweet. He’s looks to have a sore foot at the moment. Any advice on what I should do?

Hello:
I am missing a very similar looking (at least from what I can tell from the picture) skinny grey cat, for just over a week now. Mine is different in that she is female, and quite old. She walks with a limp, due to arthritis. Her name is Mia, and she wandered off from 48th and Osage. I’m wondering if there is an outside chance that the latter sighting perhaps could be mine. Please help.
Thanks,
Corey

Hey Corey. Your cat is definitely in our backyard! We have been feeding her for the past few days. We live across the street from the dog park on Chester and 48th. Call/text me asap-2672472680. Thanks!

Ladies and gents:
The cat in question does not belong to Corey (he just stopped by.) We are still trying to get this cat home. Please keep us posted if you have any info! Thanks again!

Hi guys, this is Katie. This guy is not my cat, I was just trying to find his owner. This grey kitty is definitely male, neutered, and declawed. He’s also pretty old and basically the sweetest kitty I’ve ever met. I have 2 of my own or he’d be a part of my family already.
Anyone who thinks this might be their cat, please be in touch. He’s in Mat and Annah’s back yard.

Folks, if anyone is (still) missing or has found a cat please post this in the WPL classifieds, as well as on craigslist Lost&Found, and also please report to ACCT shelter (there’s an online form if you go to the website). However, do not take a found cat to ACCT or it will likely be euthanized within 48hrs (or less) if not claimed. For suggestions for searching for lost cats, as well as going about finding a found cat’s home (including re-homing options, if homeless), email me at lml3new@gmail.com FYI, there are a number of lost and found cats currently in UC. Corey, are you still missing Mia? and Annah, have you seen the grey cat recently. The one in the photo above was attacked by a dog over two weeks ago and disappeared, according to Katie…. -linda

Yes, Mia is still gone. I have been checking the sites above. Unfortunately, at over twenty years of age and the health that one would expect at that age, I have come to believe that she wandered off to find her own space to die. It’s been 3 weeks and she depends on meds, and honestly I don’t have much hope at this point. But please do keep your eyes out and thanks for the help and for being good neighbors.
