Free community tax filing sites open Monday, Jan. 26

freetaxprepTax season is here, and here’s some useful information for those who didn’t make a lot of money last year and need help filing their taxes. Starting Monday, Jan. 26, and through April 15, 2015, 20 free tax sites managed by the Campaign for Working Families will be open throughout Philadelphia. The sites will be offering free tax preparation and e-filing services to families who earned less than $53,000 in 2014 and to individuals with an income under $20,000.

Here are the locations of free community tax sites in West and Southwest Philadelphia:

West Philadelphia

Drexel University Dornsife Center for Neighborhood Partnerships, 3509 Spring Garden (wheelchair accessible)
Monday & Wednesday 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Friday 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. 

New! Mastery Shoemaker Campus, 5301 Media Street
Monday & Thursday 4 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (drop off/pick up)
Wednesday 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Mt Pisgah A.M.E. Church, 428 N 41st Street (41st & Spring Garden) (wheelchair accessible)
Monday 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Southwest Philadelphia

Ebenezer Temple Church, 5649 Christian Street (near Baltimore Avenue)
Monday and Tuesday 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

New! Southwest CDC (wheelchair accessible), 6330 Paschall Avenue
Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Additional services offered this tax season include purchase of savings bonds, pre-paid debit cards, and screening for public benefits in partnership with the IRS, City of Philadelphia and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.
