How did West Philly vote in Presidential Election?

img_1195The 2016 Presidential Election is over, and now it’s time to look more closely at how Philadelphia and, in particular, West Philadelphia residents voted.

According to unofficial citywide results, Hillary Clinton received 560,542 votes (82.18 percent of total votes) after 98.75 percent (1665 out of 1686) precincts reported their results. Donald Trump received 105,418 votes (15.46 percent).

Ward 6 (Mill Creek):

Hillary Clinton – 5,865 votes (96.29 percent)

Donald Trump – 121 votes (1.99 percent) 

 

Ward 24 (Powelton, West Powelton, Mantua, Belmont):

Hillary Clinton – 6,316 votes (89.69 percent)

Donald Trump – 453 votes (6.43 percent)

 

Ward 27 (University City, Spruce Hill, Squirrel Hill, parts of Kingsessing):

Hillary Clinton – 9,458 votes (89.73 percent)

Donald Trump – 722 votes (6.85 percent)

 

Ward 46 (Garden Court, Cedar Park, parts of Cobbs Creek):

Hillary Clinton – 10,178 votes (94.52 percent)

Donald Trump – 251 votes (2.33 percent)

 

Ward 60 (Walnut Hill, Cobbs Creek):

Hillary Clinton – 8,201 votes (96.71 percent)

Donald Trump – 136 votes (1.60 percent)

    Wow, what a thrilling race. To the finish! I’m not sure whether the better man won or lost but we have four years to get to know him and to keep making this country great again.
