Where to buy or make your own holiday wreath and greens

The winter holidays are almost here and if you’re decorating your house or apartment, check out these great opportunities to purchase beautiful, handmade wreaths and centerpieces in the area or sign up for one of the wreath-making workshops happening this weekend.

greenssale-header-900x500• On Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Bartram’s Garden (5400 Lindbergh Blvd.) is hosting its annual Holiday Greens Sale. The sale features a beautiful selection of decorated and undecorated wreaths, centerpieces, fresh evergreens, and more. Visitors can also purchase ornamental greens and roping to create your own decorations for the holiday season. Also, enjoy seasonal music, stocking stuffers, and refreshments. • Also this Saturday, the University City Garden Club invites neighbors to Walnut Street West Library (40th and Walnut) for a free Greens Workshop where participants can learn how to make a wreath and centerpiece. The workshop will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. To register for this workshop, please email Lauren Leatherbarrow at: openn@earthlink.net or call 215-386-3905 ($15 refundable RSVP fee). Registration closes on Friday, Dec. 2.

• And last but not least, Greensgrow West (5123 Baltimore Ave.) is hosting a series of events and workshops where you can buy holiday greens or make your own ones. On December 2-4 and December 9-11, Greensgrow West is hosting the annual “Subaru Arctic Blast” event. Greensgrow will be stocked with fresh cut holiday trees, wreaths, greens and gifts. On Saturday, Dec. 3, from 4 – 6 p.m., as part of the W.E.S.T. Winter Express Shoppers’ Trolley event, Greensgrow West is hosting a Customer Appreciation event where visitors can enjoy 20% off select greens, wreaths, and winter decorations, and complimentary refreshments.

In addition to these events, Greensgrow West is also hosting a Wreath Making Workshop on Sunday, Dec. 4, 12 – 2 p.m. and a Holiday Centerpiece Workshop on Thursday, Dec. 8, 6 – 8 p.m. Registration ($40) is required for each workshop, and materials will be provided.
