Philly Spring Cleanup is this Saturday. Volunteers wanted for West Philly projects

The 10th annual Philly Spring Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and volunteer help is essential for the success of this event. 130 project sites have been registered in West Philadelphia on the Philadelphia Streets Department website. Residents can view the projects in their neighborhood and register to volunteer here.

The organizers of the following cleanup projects also would like to let community members know about their sites:

Philly Spring Cleanup at Kingsessing Recreation Center (50th and Kingsessing), 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Walnut Hill Spring Cleanup (47th and Sansom), 9 a.m. – Noon

Join us in Walnut Hill for Spring Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 8 from 9am-12pm. Coffee will be served in the morning and refreshments at noon! Please bring a broom and/or dustpan and we’ll have gloves, trash bags, and extra brooms. Volunteer  will meet at the Walnut Hill Playground at 47th and Sansom and spread out in teams from there. 18th District Community Townwatch Annual Philly Spring Clean Up

The 18th District Community Townwatch will participate in the annual Philly Spring Cleanup. This event will be held on Saturday, April 8, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.. Volunteers will gather on the 5400 Block of Addison Street and will then disperse to the different areas designated to be cleaned. Help is needed with cleaning alleys, bagging discarded trash, pulling weeds, and painting. Work gloves will be provided and T-shirts will be given for all who register.
