Police are investigating three gunpoint robberies that happened in Cedar Park, Garden Court and Walnut Hill neighborhoods in the past two weeks, including one at 11 a.m. and another just before 1 p.m.. One of these robberies resulted in an arrest of two suspects. Here are more details from police:
January 14, 46th and Hazel
At approximately 12:50 p.m., two people were walking on the 4600 block of Hazel Ave when they were approached by three young males. Two of them pulled out guns and announced a robbery. The suspects took cell phones from both victims and one victim’s wallet with identification, an unknown amount of cash and credit cards. The suspects then ran eastbound, and then northbound on 46th Street after the incident. The investigation is active and ongoing with Southwest Detective Division. All three suspects are described as black males 17-24 years old. Two of them were armed with small black revolvers, according to police.
January 16, 48th and Walnut
This robbery took place at approximately 11 a.m. when a male victim was approached by an unknown female who asked if he needed any assistance. The woman was quickly followed by an unknown male who was holding a brown cardboard sign, according to police. The man unfolded the sign and showed the barrel of a silver handgun and demanded the victim’s money. The suspect took his wallet with cash and credit cards and his cell phone. The investigation of this robbery is also still ongoing. The first suspect is described as a white female in early 20s, 5-feet-5-inches tall, 130 pounds. She was wearing blue jeans and a knit cap. The second suspect is described as a black male in late 20’s, 6-feet 2-inches tall, 180 pounds, with a goatee. He was wearing a grey hooded sweatsuit and armed with a silver handgun.
January 22, 400 South 47th St
18th Police District officers responded to a radio call of “robbery in progress” on the 400 block of South 47th Street at 6:40 p.m. A male victim told the police that three unknown men followed him into his rear alleyway and back driveway as he was shutting the garage door via electronic keypad. The victim said that one male then pulled out a black semi-automatic handgun and announced a robbery. The suspects took the victim’s Roadster bicycle, along with a Schwinn bicycle, an iPhone and some cash. Two suspects, a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old male were taken into custody after the robbery. Police are looking for a third suspect who was armed with a black handgun.

There are a lot more firearm robberies immediately outside these areas too. Especially south of Baltimore Ave. and west of 48th.
Be especially safe after the Super Bowl. Drunks make good crime targets.
