University City District has released dates and more details for their signature summer events.
The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll will return on Thursday, June 6 and Thursday, Sept. 12, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This popular event showcases local businesses with a chance to try their signature items and offerings – for just $1! The event also provides an opportunity for new businesses to introduce themselves to the community. As the event has grown over the years, more community vendors have joined it. UCD is now also offering smaller vendors an opportunity to sell food and merchandise at the event after they obtain a permit through the Philadelphia Health Department. Read more about participating vendors for the June 6th Dollar Stroll here.
University City Dining Days will be held from July 18 to 28, 2019. As always, this is a great opportunity to enjoy a three-course dinner at some of the area’s best restaurants and bars at a fixed price. Last year, over 35 restaurants participated in the event. For the first time in 2019, many restaurants will be offering lunch options for
Dining Days! Go to this page for more information.
The 40th Street Summer Series, co-produced by University City District, Penn, and The Rotunda, will take place June 15th, July 13th, and August 17th. Due to construction near 40th and Walnut, the event will be held at a brand-new location just down the block. The performances will now be held at 39th and Walnut Streets, just near Locust Walk. Activities, giveaways, and opening acts begin at 6 p.m. Visit the Summer Series page for more details.
This summer, UCD will once again present Movies in Clark Park, four Fridays of free outdoor movies running from August 9th through August 30th. The films will be screened beginning at sundown in the Clark Park bowl during fair weather. Bring a blanket or chair, grab a snack from one of the onsite food trucks, and join the fun! More information is available here.
Finally, check out summer programming at UCD’s two main public spaces – The Porch at 30th Street Station and the brand-new 40th Street Trolley Portal Gardens.
