One man killed, another man critically injured in Monday night shooting near 52nd and Sansom

A 39-year-old man was killed and another man was critically injured in a shooting Monday night near 52nd and Sansom Streets, according to reports.

The shooting happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. The 39-year-old victim was shot three times – in the head, chest and leg. He was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead shortly before 11 p.m., according to a report by CBS Philly. The second victim, a man in his 30s, was shot once in the chest. He is in critical condition. 

The men were reportedly walking along 52nd Street and were followed by two other men who began firing. At least seven shots were fired at close range from a semi-automatic weapon, according to the report.

The suspects were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants. One suspect had a white stripe on his pants, and the other one had white writing on his shirt, according to police.

So far no arrests have been made.
