The deadline to request a mail-in ballot for this year’s primary election is Tuesday, May 26. You can request a mail-in or absentee ballot here. Your request must be made before 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
If you have waited until now to request your ballot, the turnaround will be tight. The Board of Elections ballot must receive your mail-in ballot by 8 p.m. on June 2, the date of the primary. Postmarks are not honored. So, if you are applying now, get your ballot back in the mail as soon as possible after receiving it. Also, a ballot drop box has been recently installed at City Hall (see more info below).
For those who don’t get a mail-in ballot in time or want to vote in person, please note that the Board of Elections has drastically reduced the number of polling places because of the coronavirus. The city has been divided into zones with one polling place for each zone. You can find your polling place here.
Just installed at City Hall, located between the Catto Statue and the south entrance, an absentee and mail-in ballot dropbox. Despite our offices being closed to the public you can still return your ballot to us either through the mail or by dropping it here. pic.twitter.com/00TkKpJ7dB
