Starting this Wednesday, the FEMA-operated mass COVID vaccination site at the Pennsylvania Convention Center will begin accepting walk-up patients in addition to those who have made appointments. The site will accept walk-ups from eligible Philadelphia residents (Phases 1A and 1B) who live in 22 most under-vaccinated zip codes, including the following zip codes in West and Southwest Philadelphia:
19104, 19131, 19139, 19142, 19143, 19151, 19153
The FEMA vaccination site opened on March 3rd and is scheduled to operate through April 30th. The site, which is currently administering the Pfizer vaccine, has reported many unused doses at the end of each day of operation, mostly due to cancelled appointments made by people who don’t live in the city. The goal of the walk-up clinic is to make the vaccine more accessible to Philadelphians.
UPDATE: This walk-in clinic will operate for six days only – through Monday, March 22. Clinic hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. It is recommended that folks show up before 5:00 p.m. to ensure they can get in.
Please bring your ID or a piece of mail with your address on it to prove that you are a resident of one of the target zip codes. You will also be asked about your age, medical conditions, or employment to determine if you are eligible to be vaccinated. More information is available here.
The entrance to the Center City Vaccination Center is on the northeast corner of 12th and Arch Streets.
As of March 15, over 367,000 people have been partially vaccinated in Philadelphia. 119,000 of those are non-Philadelphia residents. See more Philly COVID vaccination stats here.
Just a reminder that the city is still in Phases 1A and 1B of COVID vaccine distribution, which includes people over 65 years old, those with high-risk medical conditions, people living and working in congregate settings, and frontline/high-risk essential workers, such as healthcare workers, first responders, educators, public transit workers, and restaurant/essential retail workers. Go here for more information.
UPDATE: If there is availability, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health will allow walk up vaccines at community clinic sites, including at USciences’ Bobby Morgan Arena. Clinic hours at USciences (43rd and Woodland) will be held on: April 13 and April 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
