University City District to bring back popular summer events

May 23, 2022

University City District has announced the return of its popular summer events, most of which were not held during the past two years due to the pandemic.

From the Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll to Movies in Clark Park, here’s what’s happening in the district this summer. Also, check out events and activities at The Porch at 30th Street Station and Trolley Portal Gardens (40th and Woodland).

The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll will return on Thursday, June 16 and Thursday, Sept. 15 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. During this unique event, neighborhood businesses and community vendors will present $1, $3, and $5 bargains – everything from bites from signature restaurants to pet supplies to theater tickets and much more. Plus enjoy live music, arts and crafts, and more fun! Read more about the 25+ participating vendors for the June 16th Dollar Stroll here. Details for the September Dollar Stroll will be available later this summer.

University City Dining Days will return to the neighborhood this year from Thursday, July 21 through Sunday, July 31. Dining Days features the “3 Courses, 3 Prices” promotion at many of University City’s most popular dining destinations. Over 20 restaurants have already signed up with more on the way. See a list of participating restaurants and menus at ucdiningdays.com.

UCD, in partnership with Philadelphia Parks and Recreation and Friends of Clark Park, will once again present Movies in Clark Park. The event features four Fridays of free outdoor movies running from August 5th through August 26th:

Summer of Soul on August 5th
Wayne’s World on August 12th

West Side Story (2021) on August 26th

Films will be screened beginning at sundown in the Clark Park bowl during fair weather. Just bring a blanket or chair! For more info and updates, visit this page: https://www.universitycity.org/events/movies.
