New job training opportunity with West Philadelphia Skills Initiative and Penn Medicine

The West Philadelphia Skills Initiative (WPSI) is once again partnering with the University of Pennsylvania on a paid job training program. The partners are seeking compassionate, patient-focused, and computer-proficient individuals with experience in customer service (call-center experience is a plus) to train for Access Services Associates. Those accepted to the program will receive cutting-edge job connection strategies resulting in 95 percent of graduates finding employment and a $150 weekly stipend while enrolled.

If hired, Access Services Associates are paid starting salaries of $17.69 an hour.

All applicants must be a resident of Philadelphia, possess a high school diploma or GED and be unemployed.

Virtual information sessions will be held on Thursday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. (register here) and on Monday, Aug. 15 at 11 a.m. (register here).

In other WPSI news, the award-winning program recently received a $3.5 million growth grant from The Pew Charitable Trusts through the Pew Fund for Health and Human Services. This 5-year grant is among the largest in the program’s 11-year-old history and will provide significant support for its continued impact in the Philadelphia region.
