A West Philly tradition complete with drumlines, banners and giant puppets will wind through neighborhood streets this Saturday, Oct. 15 (unless it rains) as the annual Peoplehood Parade returns.
The parade departs the Paul Robeson House at 50th and Walnut at 1 p.m. and concludes with performances in Clark Park beginning at about 2:30. See the map below.
“Peoplehood is a parade that celebrates and lifts up PEOPLE, especially those living the face of oppression and working toward collective liberation” according to a release from parade organizer Spiral Q. “Peoplehood brings activists, neighbors, and youth together to lift one another up alongside giant puppets, drumlines, banners, and performances that celebrate who they are as they are.”
The rain date for the parade is next Saturday, Oct. 22, at the same time.
