Here’s information on holiday hours and closings at some popular local stores and supermarkets. But first, check out SEPTA’s holiday service schedule in case you’re planning some trips around the city.

SEPTA’s Holiday Service Schedule

On Christmas Eve, Metro (Market-Frankford and Broad Street lines and trolleys), buses and Regional Rail will operate on a weekday schedule. On Christmas Day, Metro and buses will operate on a Sunday schedule. Bus routes 204, 310, 311 and LUCY will not run on Christmas Day. All Regional Rail lines will run on special Christmas schedules (see more info here).

On New Year’s Eve, all metro lines and bus routes will operate on a weekday schedule. Additional trains on the Broad Street Line and Market-Frankford Line will operate before and after the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Penn’s Landing, with late night trains available. The New Year’s Eve Fireworks on the Waterfront features two shows, one at 6 p.m. and the second at midnight, over the Delaware River.

In preparation for the Mummers Parade, the following bus routes will be detoured beginning at 8:15 a.m. on 15th Street between JFK Boulevard and Chestnut Street: 4, 16, 17, 27, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 48, 62, 124, 125, BSO and MFO. Go here for more details.

ALDI (46th and Market): Dec. 24: 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; Dec. 25: Closed; Dec. 31: 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; Jan. 1: Closed.

Mariposa Food Co-op (49th and Baltimore): Dec. 25: Closed.

Supremo Food Market (43rd and Walnut): Dec. 23 & Dec. 30: 7 a.m.-Midnight; Dec. 24, Dec. 25, Dec. 31 & Jan. 1: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

The Fresh Grocer (56th and Chestnut): Dec. 24: 6 a.m.-10 p.m.; Dec. 25: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
