Missing large brindle dog ‘Rosie’ (42nd & Baltimore). Update: Found!

February 23, 2012

Update (2/24): Rosie appeared at her apartment door (inside her apartment building!) early Friday morning. She was limping, but otherwise doing okay.

Neighbor Suzanne is looking for her dog Rosie (pictured) who was attacked by another dog last night and escaped during the fight. Rosie was seen by campus police near her home at 42nd & Baltimore, but got scared and ran north-west, then was seen around 44th & Locust, at about 10:15 a.m.

Rosie was injured during the fight (not known to what extent) and her collar came off when she was attacked. She is microchipped.

Please report any sightings to Suzanne at 202 812 2837.

I saw her last night on 40th heading towards Walnut at around 10 p.m. I remember because it’s not every day that you see a pitbull strolling along without a leash.

If anyone has any current sightings, please post them here and call Suzanne immediately. I’ve had no updates since about 11am (after Rosie had been spotted near 44th & Locust). Rosie lives on 42nd, btw Baltimore & Chester (east side), so might be circling the area. She is also familiar with the Woodland Cemetery.

GREAT NEWS!!! Just got a text from Suzanne that Rosie (the dog) appeared at her apartment door (inside her apt. bldg) early this morning. She is limping, but is otherwise okay.

Thanks to all who reported sightings and looked out for Rosie yesterday. Penn Police were also extremely helpful from late Wednesday night through last night!!

    🙂

That’s very good news!! I hope her injuries are minor.

By some magic, Rosie appeared on my front door at 6:30 this morning, which is on the 3rd floor of my apartment building. She was tired, hungry and had a bite wound on one leg (which now has stitches) but seems otherwise okay.

I am blown away by all of the help and encouragement I received from my West Philly neighbors. I can’t thank you all enough for helping me find Rosie.
