Reader Kameliya reports that this cat has been roaming around her neighborhood – Florence and S. Saint Bernard Streets. It does not have a collar and its left ear has been gnawed at. Kameliya cannot take it home, but she’ll keep an eye out for it.

Yup, this looks like “Sylvester”, a young male that originally was hanging around our neighborhood, spraying to mark territory and seemingly feral (unsocialized to humans). I trapped him and got him neutered, immunized, treated for worms and fleas, and left-eartipped – the universal sign of a feral free-roaming cat, and have been feeding him on my porch. Kameliya and I are in discussion about the next best steps for him since, post-neuter, he’s become less feral (and was even “working” the crowd on Baltimore Avenue during $$$ Stroll!)
