Halloween parade photos!

November 1, 2013

Halloween 10

A whole host of goblins, ghosts and other creatures large and small turned out yesterday for the Halloween Parade through the Spruce Hill neighborhood. The annual tradition began near 45th and Baltimore and concluded on the finely decorated 4200 block of Osage Ave, (“Little Osage”). We could go on about the costumes, but it’s easier just to show you. Check out the photos below.

thanks for posting these, a little bit more diversity in the pictures would have been nice.

I also noticed that all of the ghosts and skeletons were white.

Maybe the comment about diversity is a joke or is intended as sarcasm. The pictures seem to depict both children and adults of different ethnicities and seem like a fair representation of the neighborhood…or at least of those neighbors who like celebrating Halloween. I think of this night as is one of the most communal nights all year and is one of the best opportunities to interact with people of different classes / races / nationalities. (The haunted garden attracts families from all over Philly.) Thank your for posting these.
