An emergency community meeting concerning last week’s shooting of the police officer near 60th and Spruce Streets by a man who allegedly supports ISIS will be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Bryant School, 6001 Cedar Ave.
The meeting, hosted by state Sen. Anthony H. Williams in partnership with Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and State Rep. Joanna McClinton, will focus on neighborhood safety and mental health issues. Updates concerning neighborhood security will also be provided by law enforcement.
Muslim and Christian faith leaders will also participate in the meeting.

Why “allegedly supports ISIS”? That’s what he claimed. He supports ISIS whther he’s officially affiliated. What’s so hard about that. Let’s stop the PC talk. It’s about as bright as Mayor Kenney saying it had “nothing to do with Islam.” t shows how little he knows about Islam and the Quran.

Radical ISIS beliefs or not, anyone who does this is insane. Verified when his mother said he was hearing voices. Maybe we should talk about that, not his mention of ISIS.

Many people “hear voices,” besides that’s hearsay which I heard was contradicted by his brother. Also very insulting to those who have been labeled this or that by so-called “mental health” experts. If crime is labeled “insanity” its perpetrators are absolved of responsibility for their acts. Why not take the guy at his word, he knows his own motivation.
