2020 Election results for local candidates

While the presidential election has been the focus of most media in the last several days, here are the results for local politicians.

Overall, 709,767 ballots were cast in the Nov. 3 election in Philadelphia (62.85 percent of all registered voters), according to unofficial results provided by the Office of the Philadelphia City Commissioners. 356,125 ballots were cast at the polls and 353,642 ballots were cast by mail (so far). As of this morning, mail-in ballots are still being counted in the city and it may take a few more days to finish processing them. 

PA State House of Representatives

Voters in the 188th District, which comprises West Philadelphia neighborhoods of Cedar Park, Spruce Hill, Garden Court and University City, have elected democrat Rick Krajewski. He ran unopposed after defeating the longtime incumbent Jim Roebuck in the primary. By the way, Krajewski’s office is currently hiring. Check out this tweet below:

Voters in the 190th District have elected democratic candidate Amen Brown to represent them. Brown has received 94.55 percent of the vote and defeated the Republican candidate Wanda Logan.

In the 191st District, democrat Joanna McClinton has been re-elected (she ran unopposed).

In the 192nd District, democrat Morgan Cephas has been re-elected, also running unopposed.

PA State Senate (District 7)

Democrat Vincent Hughes has been re-elected, running unopposed.

U.S. House of Representatives (District 3)

Democrat Dwight Evans has been re-elected to represent the district, which includes parts of West Philadelphia. He received 90.79 percent of the cast votes and defeated the Republican candidate Michael Harvey.
