School buildings began re-opening on a rolling schedule on March 8. The goal is to have the return dates for all remaining PreK to second-grade hybrid learning students announced by March 22.
The District has also informed PreK-2 families who initially chose the 100% digital learning model last fall that they will have the opportunity to opt into hybrid learning by completing the Learning Model Selection Survey. The selection window will open tomorrow (Tuesday, March 16), and close on Tuesday, March 23. Families selecting hybrid learning will be contacted by their child’s school between March 24-26 regarding next steps and will be scheduled to start hybrid learning the week of April 5.
Students whose families do not complete the survey will remain in 100 percent digital learning. Families choosing the hybrid learning for their child can return to 100 percent digital learning at any time. Students participating in hybrid learning will attend school in person two days per week and engage in digital learning three days each week.
The School District and PFT continue working through the review process to approve all remaining schools for in-person learning in order to welcome back hybrid learning students in grades 3-12 in the coming weeks. Timing for the return of hybrid learning students in grades 3-12 will be announced as soon as the PFT’s school building readiness reviews are completed.
