West Philly folks and visitors are invited to this summer’s first Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll, which will take place Thursday, June 15, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The popular outdoor event, organized by University City District (UCD), features dozens of local businesses and vendors offering deals on food, merchandise and other items along Baltimore Avenue between 40th to 51st Streets.

This year, the event will again feature $1, $3, and $5 bargains from neighborhood standouts like Booker’s, Vientiane Café, Dahlak Paradise and more, as well as newcomers including brewery Carbon Copy and Ethiopian chicken house Doro Bet. The vendors list, including West Philly-based merchandise vendors and food trucks, has also expanded since last year.

The Dollar Stroll also features lots of free entertainment along Baltimore Avenue. This year, UCD will bring a kid-friendly activity zone at the HMS School parking lot (4400 Baltimore), a block party on 48th near Calvary Church, a brand-new Double Dutch meetup at the triangle at 50th at Baltimore, and musical performances, activities, and surprises up and down the avenue.

The Baltimore Avenue Dollar Stroll is part of University City District’s Summer in University City, which features neighborhood events throughout the summer. Along with the June 15th Dollar Stroll, UCD is also bringing free music to Trolley Portal Gardens (40th and Baltimore) and The Porch at 30th Street Station, running the popular University City Dining Days promotion from July 20th through the 30th, screening  four films as part of Movies in Clark Park, and will present a second Dollar Stroll on Thursday, Sept. 7.

The Stroll will be held rain or shine. View a PDF of the Dollar Stroll map, or click here for the list of participating businesses and their offers.
