Walnut West Library Spring Egg Hunt lives – this coming Saturday afternoon, April 6

April 3, 2024

Easter in March snuck up on the Friends of the Walnut West Library this year, too late to hold our annual Egg Hunt last week – but after so many dreary days of rain this week – what better way to spend this Saturday afternoon outside with the kids!

And the Easter bunny has cordially agreed to stick around one more week! (bring your camera)

Note: Due to scheduling conflicts, we’re holding the event in the afternoon this year.

The Egg Hunt for very young children begins at 2 p.m. And at 3:15 p.m. for not quite so little children (to age 10).

Gather outside on Penn’s campus, near 40th St, on the grass north of Locust Walk, for stories and activities with Walnut West librarians, followed by the actual egg hunt. Each child will also receive a book and maybe other goodies. (On the odd chance that it rains, we’ll gather inside the library, on the corner of 40th and Walnut.)

We’re grateful for help from college student members of Circle K (Kiwanis Club). They stuff and hide the eggs and have something to do with the rabbit showing up…
