A woman and a child were hit by a U-Haul van at 43rd Street and Baltimore Avenue this morning at about 11:45 a.m. Both were taken to the hospital, according to reports from witnesses. Many neighbors witnessed the accident, which happened while many people were shopping at Clark Park’s Farmers’ Market and hanging out at the Green Line Cafe.

Witnesses said that a young woman was driving the van and she remained at the scene to talk to police. The victims’ condition is unknown at this time, but some witnesses said that both the woman and the child were conscious after the accident.

Police are still searching for the driver of the silver Chevrolet Trailblazer involved in Monday night’s deadly hit-and-run accident at 48th and Chester. A 52-year-old woman was run over and killed while crossing the street. Police have not released the name of the victim, but various media outlets have identified her as Deanna Teal.

The heavily damaged SUV with New York license plates that police believe was involved in the crash was found abandoned a few blocks away from the accident scene.

6 ABC reports that Ms. Teal left behind a daughter and six grandchildren and was engaged to get married soon. She was reportedly walking home when she was struck. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends.

A 59-year-old man died today when he slipped under a SEPTA bus at 49th and Woodland, philly.com is reporting. The 59-year-old man was reportedly pinned under the 12 bus and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 43rd and Spruce this morning. No word yet on injuries. Traffic was closed for a block each way on Spruce and 43rd.
