This black and white cutie is somewhere between one and two years old, and was transferred into ACCT Philly by one of their rescue partners. He has some basic commands mastered, so it seems that at one point he may have had a family. He’s looking to get back into a home so he can work on ‘snuggle’ with his new family.

Buckley is a young boy with some energy to burn. But, he also likes to sit in the lap of his human for some quiet time. Buckley knows “sit” and is starting to figure out “down.” He enjoys playing with toys (stuffing-free please) and running around the play yard. Buckley is learning to walk like a good boy on an easy-walk harness (it helps to reduce the amount of pulling that he does on a traditional leash and collar) and will check in with his human to see if he’s doing a good job.

Buckley is eager to meet new dogs and with slow introductions does very well with them.

His Pen Pals also spend quality time with him trying to keep him as stress free as possible. Buckley’s Pen Pals also work on teaching him to be the best dog he can be, socializing him with people and other dogs, teaching him some basic commands and giving him plenty of snuggles. Chili is one of the ACCT shelter pups that have a cold and need a warm couch to recover. She is an extremely sweet middle aged gal looking for a new forever home. She came to the shelter as a stray so now she’s ready to hop into your home and love you forever!

Chili also has an adorable and awesome personality. She’s about five-six years old so she’s the perfect age for you if you are looking for a chilled out middle aged dog who wants nothing more than love and affection. She is full of personality and she always has a smile on her face. She is very well behaved and she is happy to do whatever you are doing, she’s just a go with the flow type of dog.

She’s easy to handle and she walks well on the leash. She is a dog who will be happy to go on a walk with you, go out to lunch with you, play with toys by your feet, or curl up in your lap. She really loves making new friends, especially people friends.

You might chuckle at her because she has a sausage-like body and a small head but it’s what makes her adorable! She could stand to get in better shape but it’s nothing a proper diet and some walks won’t fix! Chili loves her treats and also really loves to play fetch with a tennis ball and she doesn’t mind it when you take it from her to throw again. She did well with the dogs she has met so far at the shelter, especially ones who are chill and mellow like her.

Chili is a fun girl to be around and she can’t help but make everyone around her smile, so bring her home and she’ll make you smile every day. These handsome, affectionate, fun, and sweet foster kittens are looking for a home together. They are all up to date on shots for the next year and have been neutered, and microchipped so they can go home with you ASAP! Check out this message from a neighbor, Sarah, who’s fostering them for ACCT Philly:

“Rick (tabby, boy) is what we refer to as rick-tastic! He’s a ridiculously sweet little goofball! You will know the second he is happy as can be because he looooves to purr. With big brown eyes that will melt your heart, this guy could get away with murder. But he doesn’t take advantage of his cuteness! He’s well-behaved, stays off counters, and uses the scratching post and litterbox. He’s not crazy all-over-the-place wild like many kittens, but he IS adventurous and makes his own fun! I’ve found him climbing up a screen-like radiator cover and balancing on a bag full of other plastic bags. We like to describe him in this house as “squishy,” and he’s definitely the squishiest little kitten I’ve ever met. I could hold him tight to my chest and “squish” cuddle him all day. Rick was brought to ACCT as a stray with his brother and sister. They were too small to be adopted, so I picked them up to foster.

Biscuit (tuxedo, boy) is Rick’s best friend. These two LOVE each other so much! They follow each other around the house to play, rough-house, cuddle, snuggle, and groom each other. They make each other purr all day long. Biscuit is super friendly, lovey, and affectionate. He is quite adamant about playing. It can be too much for some cats. He’s pretty good about adjusting based on feedback, but he may be too much for kitties who are more docile. Biscuit is a charmer. Everyone who meets him falls in love. He loves to be in your lap and makes those awesome chirps that cats make when he runs up to you. He always greets me at the door when I get home from work with snuggles. Biscuit was found by a friend of a friend as a stray on Hazel St. in West Philadelphia. I took him to ACCT to be scanned for a chip and looked for possible owners to no avail, so he became my foster.”

Sarah said that January adoption price is $75 for both of them with the “adopt a buddy” program. She will definitely consider separating them, but Rick and Biscuit are the cutest pair and Sarah would love for them to find a home together. Brutus is an adult male pit bull mix weighing 34 pounds. He was found as a stray and it is quite obvious that he must have been on his own for a while as he is too skinny and suffers from a bit of hair loss. The rough streets of Philly however have not changed Brutus’ sweet nature. He is a really cool dude who likes to hang out by your side, sniff his surroundings and check out everything that is going on. He also likes to play from time to time and but is more focused on his human friends. While he is not particularly clingy, Brutus always looks to you when you have him out, seeks eye contact and stays close by your side. And he obviously enjoys getting his ear scratched.

It’s hard to tell whether he was trained to walk nicely on a leash at some point in his life but it’s super easy to handle him. Even when he starts to pull, he picks up quickly when you let him know that he needs to walk slower. Brutus met a couple of dogs while at the shelter and did well during his meets. So far, his life on the streets was lonely, and while at the shelter he at least has a roof over his head and two meals a day, he is looking for a home where he can get lots of love and give you even more love in return.

Sweet, loveable Beatrix is in search of a forever home – not just for the holidays! She’s a 1-2 year old playful pretty girl! She loves playing tug and fetch! She also loooooves people! When she sees a new person she gets the butt wiggles! She’s a young girl so she still has some of her puppy ways! She’s actually named after Beatrix Potter because she hops and bounces and spins just like a bunny rabbit!

Beatrix is really good about sharing her toys. She’s kind of scared of other dogs though. She does well with really young puppies and her brother – she came in the shelter with her brother. His name is Cleveland and he’s awesome too, just like Beatrix.

Bea is up-to-date on all of her shots and will be spayed and microchipped when you take her home. Awesome, right? She has two special people dedicated to keeping her happy in the shelter. You love chocolate, right? Then you’ll love Murphy! He’s a young, handsome fella with a beautiful dark red brown coat. Murphy is trying to get out of the shelter and into a loving, caring home for the holidays.

Murphy loves to say hello to everyone and is very friendly. He loves to walk on a harness and will barely pull you which make the walks much more pleasant. He loves a game of fetch with a tennis ball and is learning “Drop it” very quickly.

He weighs in at only 50 lbs and is a medium-sized dude. And the best yet: he is housetrained too! He is also up-to-date on all of his shots and will be microchipped and neutered before he comes home with you.

King is loyal, royal, and available for adoption! And if his ridiculously adorable ears aren’t reason enough to take King home with you today, here’s a little more information about Philadelphia’s very own monarch!

King is about 1-2 years old, and came to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him. It’s all good, though – King’s a glass is half full kind of guy, and he’s making the best of the circumstances he’s found himself in. Goofy and fun, King loves to run around in the play yard at the shelter, do his zoomies, and chase after his favorite toys (tennis balls and tug toys can keep him entertained for hours!). King’s not selfish, either – he’ll always bring his toys over to you so you can share in the big fun.

King’s always up for a leisurely stroll in the park, and with an Easy Walk harness turning him into a perfect gentleman, you can both enjoy your walk. King knows basic commands, such as “sit”, and “touch”, and since he’s highly food/reward motivated, it’ll be easy as pie to teach him even more.

Have another dog in the house? Great! King loves other dogs, although he can sometimes get soooo excited to play, that he can forget his manners (he’s pushy). So if you have a playful, tolerant resident dog, King may just be the perfect fit for your family. Got cats? Well, cats are a little more complicated – King interacts with cats the same way he likes to play with dogs, so he may be a bit too much for most cats. While he could probably live with cats with some very slow intros, King would probably do best in a cat free home.
