The City has an online database for disposal, recycling and donation options in the area, including clothing donations. We have compiled clothing donation options in the West Philadelphia area in the list below (if you know of more options, please let our readers know in the comments below).

If you have some unwanted professional clothes that you want to donate, check out Career Wardrobe, an organization that helps people looking for jobs look more presentable during interviews. The 18th Police District wants to help those who need warm clothes. Officers will be giving away winter clothing at their headquarters at 5510 Pine St. on Friday, Jan. 10 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The annual Cedar Park Holiday Basket Drive is here! The Cedar Park Neighbors (CPN) community association is partnering again with local nonprofits and places of worship to provide food baskets to neighbors in need during the holiday season.

Last year, CPN was able to reach over 200 local families (nearly 800 people total!) – a great testament to the goodness and willingness to help by the community. West Philly’s Curio Theatre Company has received a lot of scholarship applications for their 2019 Summer Camp Program, which will be held in two two-week sessions next month (July 1-12 and July 15-26).

“Interest and enrollment for Curio Theatre Company’s 2019 Summer Camp has far surpassed our expectations,” reads an email newsletter sent out by Curio. “More kids than ever have asked for scholarship assistance to attend Summer Camp 2019.”  Continue Reading
