Sydney went missing from his home on June 2nd, just after his family moved to 932 S. 49th (between Warrington and Springfield). Package theft reported by neighbor

Posted on 03 July 2012 by WPL

A reader, Christina, reports that goods from two packages were stolen from her front yard yesterday. She lives on 46th Street between Locust and Spruce. Packaging and invoices were left behind.

Similar issues were reported last fall and in the spring. Christina notified police about this incident and encourages others who may have missing packages to do the same. She said that the companies the packages were sent from were very helpful and are replacing the items. A police report can be helpful should the carrier want to investigate the stolen property.

Black & white pit bull spotted (48th and Hazel)

Posted on 03 July 2012 by WPL

A reader emails that she spotted a black and white pit bull (1-3 years old) this morning lying on the lawn on the corner of 48th and Hazel. She tried to get close to him and get a photo but he briskly trotted away headed west up Cedar ave. The dog seems very friendly, but scared. He’s not wearing any collar.

Please leave a comment below if you have any information about this dog or if you spot him in the neighborhood.

Milan Marvelous, the owner, said that they’re planning to open the doors on Baltimore Avenue on July 12. “We’re totally stoked, because the new space is simply luscious … We’re looking forward to our new neighbors – Dock St, Firehouse Bikes, Elena’s, Satellite Cafe, Vix, Mariposa, etc.,” said Milan.

This week, the store is throwing a big “moving away” sale (July 2 – July 7), with everything marked down up to 50% off. The store’s last day at 208 S. 40th St. will be Saturday July 7.

On Friday June 29 this cat got out at the intersection of 50th and Baltimore. It is mostly black with hints of orange and brown running through her. Her predominant feature is that she has a split face. She looks like a two face cat, half her face being black and the other half being orange with hints of white.

If you’ve seen her, please call 267-315-7754 or email GaryAltmark@gmail.com.
