Update (Jan. 30): Bandit was found last night and is back home!
Bandit is a Miniature Australian Shepherd, blue merle color: silver, black and white. He is only 1.5 years old, about 20 pounds and 18 inches high. He has no tail, floppy years and one brown, one blue eye. He got hit by a car and ran off from 40th and Spring Garden. If you have seen him, please call 814-441-4601.
A Shar-pei has been wandering around the neighborhood for at least a couple of days, and was last seen near 36th & Walnut around 10 a.m. this morning. No collar.
A number of people have attempted to grab him, but he is terribly skittish/timid and will run if approached. He is probably starved, so any attempts to lure him would best be done with food. If you see this dog, please post location and time in the comments. If anyone knows the owner please get in touch with them ASAP and let us know.
A reader reports that his friend’s motorcycle was stolen last night near 49th and Springfield. It is an 85 Honda Rebel 250 with a studded seat (see photo below). It is an olive-ish green color and has a dime size hole in the seat and has longer, not stock, rear shocks. A reward is offered if found.
Please email Chance at chanceafrica [at] hotmail.com with any info.
Update (Jan. 29): The cat has been found and returned to the owner.
An orange tabby cat has been missing since Wednesday, Jan. 11. He’s a very friendly kitten, who meows a lot. He may have some red wax on him from a candle accident. The cat’s home is around 47th and Chester.
If you’ve seen this cat, please contact Edde at: motoedde@gmail.com
Update (11:15 p.m.): The pooch has been found and is safe at home.
A Beagle/Jack Russell Mix (neutered) was lost tonight. He is mostly black with some brown and white, has a docked tail, and is greying around his muzzle. He responds to the name Harvey and was last seen at 45th and Osage. Please contact Marni with any information regarding his whereabouts at 804-690-7950.
This week’s featured pup is Anna, a one-two-year old, 35 pound, playful pit mix who was found as a stray in Philadelphia. Now she’s in foster care and looking for a forever home! Anna is sweet and smart and really eager to please. She loves her people, and is meeting new people to love all the time.
Anna can occasionally be uncertain with new people, but a few treats go a long way with this girl, and she will be your best pal in no time. And once she’s your pal, she’s really your pal – you can pick her up, cuddle her, kiss her, touch her paws: she has no body-handling issues at all! At night, she loves to sack out on the couch, sprawled across your lap while you read or watch a movie. And if you let her on the bed, she will burrow down in the blankets to cuddle up close to you. (Though she happily sleeps in her crate all night if you want her to).
Anna has also been making new dog friends in her foster home. She is great with lower energy dogs (she has been lovely and polite with two fragile 14 year-old dogs that she knows), but can get a little too excited with higher energy, pushy dogs. Her medium-energy foster brother is just right for her.
Anna has plenty of puppy energy, so she would do best in a home that can provide her with daily exercise. She loves to go running with her foster mom. She is super smart, and learns fast. Watch her video to see how much she has learned in just a few weeks in foster care! She can be a little jumpy and mouthy when she plays, so older children only would be best for Anna. Anna does have some allergies that seem to be controlled by diet, but don’t hold that against her! Anna is house-trained, crate-trained, microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, and ready to go home with you! To meet Anna, contact elizabeth.elzer [at] gmail.com.
